Kindergarten

The Kindergarten program at St. Anthony School provides a foundation for children as they begin their educational program. Following the Kindergarten Program Statement from Alberta Education, the students are provided with many opportunities and activities to help them develop and learn. Parental involvement is encouraged, beginning with a “Welcome To Kindergarten” workshop for parents to learn how to support their children in their educational program. Early literacy and numeracy skills are an integral part of the program and are reinforced through many of the daily activities and learning centers. Through stories, music, celebrations, field trips and daily activities the children are able to explore their environment. Special moments and experiences of the children help them to begin to grow in relationship with each other and with God.

Please note: The amended provincial Education Act will implement a standardized age of entry for kindergarten students as of September 1, 2020. As of then, children must be 5 years old by December 31 of the year they begin school. You can read more on the STAR Catholic website.
